The glowing lights cast long shadows on the forms huddled around sticky tables. Every gulp of bitter liquor is a chug at forgetting, a fleeting escape from the pain that shadows them outside these dark walls. They come here to numb the ache, seeking escape in the murmurs of strangers who get it. But the drinks can only mask the despair for so long.
